Naughty or Nice w/ Morgan Page and Not-So-Nice Lines

Dear Fans,

Red Cube & Ground Breaking Events (G.B.E.) would like to sincerely apologize to those of you who had to wait in line for so many hours this past Saturday, and to those who were unable to get in to the event.

The event was not over-sold. At about 11:30 p.m., prior to Morgan Page's set, the main room had filled to over-capacity, while space was still available in other areas of the venue, such as the 2nd room. Due to this scenario, and to protect the safety of the attendees, the security team made the decision to not allow entry for a time. Despite our attempts to argue this decision, they were pretty firm. It was very frustrating for all of us involved, but we also ultimately must consider the safety of our patrons. There were 300 tickets that were allotted to be available at the door, but we were only able to sell about 100 of these due to the circumstances. Fifty more ticket-holders were allowed entry, and a few more cash buyers. Later in the night, we were eventually able to allow those who remained at the door entry into the event.

The refund process has already begun. For those of you who purchased tickets, but were not able to get into the event, please contact Flavor.US for your refund. We will review our will-call records, which indicate who did get entry, and will approve those refunds promptly.

We would also love the opportunity to make this up to those of you who were not able to gain access to the event with your advance tickets by offering free tickets to our New Year's Eve event and, if you are over 21 years of age, free access to our event featuring Dillon Francis this Thursday night at Whiskey Bar. If you purchased a physical ticket, are in possession of your ticket, and plan on attending our New Year's Eve event, you may present your ticket that has not been torn at the box office and you will be given 2 free entries per ticket.

We have understandably received many emails expressing your concerns over the weekend and these will be addressed starting today.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@redcubepdx.com.

Once again, we sincerely apologize and understand your frustrations. Please allow us the opportunity to make things right!

Sincerely,

Red Cube

  1. The site doesn't really give much information on how to get my refund. Could you elaborate a little on the process I need to go through, please? And, are you offering free tickets to the New Year's in addition to our refunds, or instead of?

  2. The fact that you guys are owning up to this and trying to make it right means a lot. I was not there but this just reaffirms why Red Cube is the premier event planner in the pacific northwest.

  5. The point I was trying to make was that "at capacity" should not mean "lets fill every inch of the building". I understand that you want a ton of people to come, but making it uncomfortably cramped just so you can make money, doesnt make me want to spend another 30 some dollars to be in a room I cant even dance in. plus having so many people in one room breeds stuff like what happened to my friend, which to me, is unacceptable. There either needs to be less tickets sold or bigger venues for larger events, and that's all I'm saying.

  7. Just wanted to express my deep disappointment and frustration with Flavorus as well as Redcube for what occurred on Saturday night. My boyfriend purchased these tickets as a birthday gift to me, which we were celebrating Saturday. Not only did we plan our trip to Portland exclusively around this show,(spending over $300.00 in transportation and hotel expenses to make it); we waited outside in freezing weather for nearly THREE hours to be denied entry into the show we had purchased tickets to IN ADVANCE.Both of us have been to countless events put on by many different promoters such as Giant, Insomniac and HARD & the venue size/crowd size varied at each. Neither one of us have ever experienced the level of disorganization, lack of staff or lack of communication that we experienced on Saturday night at ANY of the shows we've ever been to. I understand mistakes are made- but Saturday was completely unprofessional and unacceptable and makes me more than skeptical about future REDCUBE events. - Upset BDay Girl

  9. Yeah, I drove about a hundred miles, and waited in line for over 2 hours. I started at the back of the line, and after waiting around for a couple hours ended up at the back of the line again, because so many people had left upset/angry. I finally joined that group and I lost faith in RedCube. The party at the convention center was great, but after this ordeal, I'm not sure if I'll even try to go to Bass Odyssey.

  11. This is the same BS you guys have been putting people through. Y
You oversold Zeds Dead. Same shit happened at NON last year, people who had tickets couldn't get in or waited 4 hours and got too cold. Its not difficult to organize a great line situation. BE PROFESSIONAL or take the gobs of cash you make from the audience and hire someone who is.
The organized approach to the line was laziness.
You do the bare minimum to deal with these situations as well. letting people in who only had cash money at the front of the line right at 9pm is not fair to people that already paid.
    .
Its great that you bring the most epic headliners. But not too long ago, none of the scene people had never heard of you locally or your djs. its true you been around for years. but it faded and now its back true. But just remember the customer is always right and people don't appreciate getting robbed of their experience.
Someone else that has the bucks and professionalism need to take back over, that has some heart for the audience, the scene and real PLUR.
Corporate assholic attitudes and ignorance is not welcome in the scene for to long. The empire will fade.

  12. Bullshit. The "safety of the attendees," well why the hell are there always so many thizzed out/ trifade kids and no medical staff or tents? that's more concerning than overcapacity/fire marshalls coming. I asked 4 secruity guards seperately who was in charge of this chaos, they said "red cube," didn't give me a contact person....but Red Cube told secruity to keep people out. make it look like you are the victim. I've probably spent $7,000 on raves in the last 3 years, and because i know i'll have a good time. This was the only time i had more fun before the rave than during the rave, and i spent $30. if Red Cube is the best event planner organization in PNW, then my god, i should start my own event company because goventure, skills, insomniac, or HARD event are more expensive and more worth it.

  13. And who the Hell wants to see the people coming to the complimentary events... not me! Paid for Morgan page!!!!

  14. So....
The New Years Eve event is hosted at the same venue.
How is this going to be different from Naughty or Nice?

If we have a physical ticket that we want to use in exchange for two, whats to stop us from having to wait in line for 3 and half hours again? Or not be able to get in again at all?

    This is complete BS

  15. Flavorus is stating that RedCube has not provided them with a list of individuals who did not pick up their tickets from will call, and is therefore unable to refund. This is unacceptable.

  16. next time: take away all the crappy djs, like that one who fucked up pressure, wasn't it nice that everyone was effed up anyways and didn't notice? have just 1 huge dj, maybe an opener. bigger venue. lets be honest, you encourage shit, 8 hours of raving, hmmm, for people who want to do drugs. crappy djs, for people who don't appericate the music and want to do drugs. keep sucking balls with your high school kids who will have psychological disorders in their 30's and all the other life FAILS who like to come to these things so that they be effed up.

  17. LOL!
So to make up for the event that *people who PAID for tickets* didnt even get into... you want them to go back and wait in line at the SAME place?
