Moonlight Masquerade: 2 Headliners Announced!

After the first successful installation of Moonlight Masquerade last year, we're very excited to be moving forward with plans on this year's event. We'll be periodically announcing our headlining artists and we're so excited that we can't wait any longer for the first announcement. So! Without further hoo-haa-ing and other such ados, here you go!

Morgan Page // Soundcloud

With over 130 remixes to his name—including tracks by Madonna (“Miles Away”), Katy Perry (“I Kissed A Girl”), Tegan & Sara (“Back In Your Head”), and La Roux (“Bulletproof”)—Morgan Page has earned a solid reputation for transferring insatiable pop energy to the dance floor in the form of banging, progressive house tracks. High ranking spots on iTunes’ dance chart, Beatport’s progressive chart, and Billboard’s club charts affirmed his salability, while an ’09 Grammy nomination for Deadmau5’s remix of Page’s “The Longest Road” simultaneously bolstered his underground cred while spotlighting his skills as a songwriter.

Krewella // Soundcloud

Krewella is an electro group from Chicago comprised of sisters Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf joined by producer Rain Man. Making their debut in the summer of 2011, the trio instantly exploded onto the electro scene with their genre defying releases. Seamlessly merging infectious melodies with snarling dubstep drops, Krewella defies norms in EDM music. Onstage, the energy of Krewella's DJ sets is contagious. With unrelenting growling bass, fans will find themselves raging harder than they ever have before.

So, there you go, you lucky party-goers, you. We'll be announcing more artists as the time draws near, so stay tuned! And make sure to RSVP to the event page and "like" the Facebook page to stay up to date!

DJs and Producers! Win a chance to play at EDC Las Vegas!

Insomniac, those hard working mofos who bring you the Electric Daisy Carnival, are giving you lucky SOBs the opportunity to show off your stuff at one of the country's largest music festivals in the country's biggest adult playground. What's required of you? Why, simply to create a 30-minute mix, including at least two of your own production work, that you upload for submission. EDMbiz, the EDM music conference in Vegas directly linked to EDC, will review your submissions and select someone to poop their pants with excitement at this pretty extraordinary opportunity. And, hey, while you're at it, you might want to check out the conference!

Check out the link for more information and exact contest rules and requirements! And, if you win, Red Cube expects to tag along...

Wanna be in Rusko's upcoming new video?

Dubstep -- everyone dances a little differently to it. Some rock the gurner face and some just bend repetitively from the waist to the beat. Rusko calls it "embracing the inner Skanker." Think you know what that inner Skanker truly looks like? Well, show Rusko just what's up and he may be picking you to feature that in an upcoming music video! You can do so in two ways: Show up to Red Cube's part of Rusko's spring tour at the Roseland Theater on April 26th and get filmed doing your best interpretation OR make a video (we'd suggest a combination of the two)!

Details on the contest can be found here: http://www.ruskoonfire.com/skankervideo/

And check out the video here! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=gMnN91ymKLk

Now get out there and get skankin!

Portland ranked #3 for best music scene

Forget that the ranking focuses mainly on our well-known indie rock scene. Portland has a vibrant nightlife that did factor into the ranking in Livability.com's list of the top scenes in the country. And, personally, we feel that the rising electronic scene here is a huge part of that. And that means that YOU, you crazy party animals, you, are a factor in this city's overall awesomeness. It's nice for Portland to get some recognition on just how darned cool it is, but honestly, we're not quite sure why we didn't make #1...

DJs! Win a chance to play Nocturnal Wonderland in Texas!

Insomniac Productions, the team responsible for some of the largest parties in the country, such as Electric Daisy Carnival (come on, you've all heard of them), is giving all of you worthy, and possibly unworthy, DJs the opportunity to do an opening set at this year's Nocturnal Wonderland in Texas. All you have to do for consideration is upload a 30-minute set, tag it properly, upload your track-list, and get over 100 plays to be considered on the "short list" (though I'm personally suspicious that short list might grow to be a pretty large list after word spreads -- make your mix count!). So, go forth, all you aspiring Aokis and Skrillexi, make your mixes, flood your facebook streams with pleas for plays, spam (annoy) your friends, and make those fellas at Insomniac take notice!

Absolut Swedish House Mafia

We're not quite sure what this video actually has to do with vodka, but who the hell cares with Swedish House Mafia providing the music and these super cool Tron-goes-BurningMan effects? Check out the video on YouTube and watch through the end for the chance to remix the track!
