We're going to go ahead and go out on a limb here and suppose that, for the most part, you all are well aware of this "Facebook" thingymajig that everyone's talking about. We jumped on that bandwagon some time ago, but more recently we've also created our very own personal fan page. What does this mean for you? Well, gosh darnit, we're glad you asked!

Mark Knight and a DJ with a walker.
Grammy-nominated producer, Toolroom Records owner, world-renowned DJ, and all-around badass, Mark Knight, is coming to Portland. That's right, folks, we've roped him in to help us celebrate the birthday of one of Red Cube's own resident DJs, the very geriatric Jamie Meushaw. Despite the ever worsening osteoporosis, required assistance of a walker, thinning hair (well, no hair, really), and the lingering smell of Depends, Jamie is happily looking forward to ringing in his 34th birthday by opening for one of his heroes. That is, if his hearing isn't the next victim of his age, before the approach of the confirmed date of the 22nd of January.
We here at Red Cube HQ hope that you all come out to celebrate another year in the already too-many-to-count of Jamie's life, at Whiskey Bar on January 22nd, of 2011. Confirmed sets, in order of appearance: Evan Alexander, Jamie Meushaw, and the much laudable Mark Knight.

Lines can be such a hassle…
Though we feel that the Mark Farina event this past Friday was a complete success and, by judging the sheer number of sweaty bodies, we'd gamble that you all had a great time, we do recognize some things that could have been done differently to make your night all the better. Some of you were forced to wait in line again after having stepped out for a smoke, and we agree that this is unfair.
As many of you know, Aura is well-known as being more of a mainstream venue, and so are used to dealing with a different sort of crowd than all you easy going, fun-loving folk that we are thankful to have as a part of this scene. We'd like to acknowledge that some of you were required to wait unnecessarily for re-entry to the club, and ensure you that this is something that will be changed in the future. Similarly, we plan on working with our new friends at Aura in ensuring that your experience at future events there will be as positive as possible.
We'd also like to remind you that this scene of ours is a family, and like any great family, communication is key. If ever you have feedback that you'd like to send our way in a constructive, positive manner, we always love to hear it. As this blog is one of our means of communicating with you, we appreciate you taking the time to communicate with us
